About Angley College

History

      Angley College was originally licensed in 1999.  The College was founded to provide post-secondary education and training in technology, medical and business careers.  The College has been providing professional business, aviation management, and medical training by keeping abreast of technological and sociological developments and by monitoring both the career training and career development needs of employers and employees.  The founding president is Dr. Joseph T. Angley, Ph.D.  The College is located in Deland, Florida.

Programs Offered

      Angley College is an independent, co-educational, private college specializing in applied education and training.  The College offers short-term diploma programs in specialized areas such as applied healthcare training, therapeutic massage, and other medical related programs.  The College also offers Associate of Science degrees in medical assisting, therapeutic massage, business office administration, aviation management, and medical office administration. Students can also earn Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration, Business Administration with a Concentration in Aviation Management, or Business Administration in Health Care Management.  Angley College focuses on practical, career-oriented education, while understanding that well-rounded individuals require a solid grounding in basic language, mathematics, social sciences, and humanities.

      The mission of Angley College is to develop the human potential of each graduate by providing education and training in professional skills and behaviors in preparation for entry level careers. Angley College is committed to encouraging the intellectual pursuits of men and women in a variety of business and technical areas.  The College strives to maintain the flexibility necessary to meet the needs of a diverse student population and the varying educational requirements prompted by the changes in the society it serves.  The College recognizes the need to encourage creative activities and community involvement commensurate with institutional resources and abilities. 

College Philosophy

      Angley College believes that all students deserve an opportunity to achieve their full potential within the limits of their individual needs, capabilities, and interests. The College seeks to assist students to reach their potential by offering career-oriented programs that provide a variety of educational and professional opportunities from the short-term diploma programs to degrees. Notwithstanding the demands of a career-focused educational system, the College recognizes the usefulness of the liberal arts in expanding the viewpoints and perspective of its students, and strongly encourages students to seek out and explore the selected general education courses offered by the College. The College places strong emphasis on the development of interpersonal skills, the development of communication skills, and the practice of personal accountability and ethics.

      The Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education, licenses Angley College. Additional information regarding this institution may be obtained by contacting the Commission at 325 West Gaines Street, Suite 1414, Tallahassee, FL 32399-0400, toll-free telephone (888) 224-6684. Angley College is an approved education provider for Nursing Assistants in the State of Florida (Department of Health, MQA/Nurse Assisting Registry Training Program Code 00559), and is approved by the State of Florida Board of Nursing as an approved provider of nursing continuing education, Provider Number FBN 2490. The National Health career Association and the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) has approved certain programs at Angley College, which allows graduates of these programs to sit for various national certification examinations. The American Registry of Medical Assistants recognizes the Medical Assisting program and students who successfully complete the program are eligible for registration as a Registered Medical Assistant. Please contact the Registrar for additional information on certification examinations.
